Frequently Asked Questions

When is the right time to seek therapy?

Many people wait until life feels overwhelming—but you don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If anxiety, stress, relationship struggles, or exhaustion are keeping you from feeling present and at ease, therapy can help.

Confidentiality

Everything we talk about is private and confidential, with the exception of rare situations where I am legally or ethically required to break confidentiality (such as safety concerns). Your privacy and trust are my top priority.

Why does therapy help?

Therapy helps because it gives you a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and patterns. Together, we’ll use mind-body tools, nervous system regulation, and practical strategies so you can feel calmer, more present, and more in control of your life.

How long is a typical session?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, giving us enough time to dive in while keeping things focused and manageable.

Do we meet in person or online?

All sessions are currently offered online via telehealth, so you can access support from the comfort of your home or office—no commute or babysitters required. Clients can use their computer to access the electronic health system, called Simple Practice or download the app on your phone. All intake paperwork is done via e-sign.

How often do we meet?

Most clients start with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency. Over time, as you begin to feel more confident and steady, we may shift to biweekly or monthly check-ins based on your needs.

How do I know therapy is right for me?

If you’ve tried to “push through” stress or anxiety on your own and still feel stuck, therapy may be right for you. It’s a collaborative process where you’ll gain tools, insight, and support—not just temporary fixes.

How are my personal goals set and measured?

We’ll set goals together, based on what feels most important to you—whether that’s sleeping better, reducing racing thoughts, improving relationships, or feeling calmer day to day. We’ll check in regularly to track progress and make adjustments along the way.

What can I expect during our sessions?

Each session is a mix of conversation, reflection, and practical tools. You can expect empathy, non-judgment, and a personalized approach that includes nervous system resets, CBT, nutrition insights, communication skills, and strategies for lasting calm.

Do you take insurance? If not, what does a session cost?

I currently accept private pay clients only. Many clients choose this route because it offers greater privacy and flexibility, without being driven by a diagnosis that insurance requires. Upon request, I can provide a superbill you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Intake (1st sessions) are $185, 50min sessions $170, and Intensives 90min + are $200+.

How long have you worked as a Mental Health Therapist?

I’ve been a licensed therapist since 2014, and have worked in a variety of settings including group homes, outpatient clinics, dual-diagnosis centers, in-home family support, and now private practice.
